On Instagram, Users Under Age Of 16 Will Not Be Able To Use “Direct Broadcast” Function

Users under the age of 16 will not be able to use the “Direct Broadcast” function and disconnect the “Auto Plane” function in personal messages without the permission of the parents, reports Instagram.

The American technological company META has announced innovations regarding the “teenage accounts” on the Instagram platform.

The statement says that users under the age of 16 cannot use the function of “direct broadcasts” without parents permission and cannot turn off the “automatic blur” function in personal messages.

The “Teenage accounts” function will be extended to Facebook and Messenger.

For several months, innovations will be tested in the USA, Great Britain, Canada and Australia.

Instagram, the social media platform under the META brand, in September 2024 introduced the Teen Accounts application, which limits the use of the platform by children and adolescents and includes security measures.
