One of the Azerbaijani banks temporarily suspended operations with the Russian ruble, told Trend a source in the banking market of Azerbaijan.
According to the data, the Bank’s employees were sent to a temporary ban on any cash and non-cash transactions in Russian currency.
“Banking operations [with the Russian ruble] were temporarily suspended both for operations of individuals and legal,” the source noted.
Presumably, such a solution is caused by expectations of sharp fluctuations in the ruble exchange rate. In particular, in Russia in recent days, the volatility of the national currency has increased dramatically: in individual banks, the US dollar has risen in price from about 80 to 140-190 rubles.
