According to the Hawaiian Volcanic Observatory of the US Geological Service, the volcanic eruption began about 03.15 local time in the volcanic crater of the peak of Kilauea, located on the territory of the Hawaiian National Park of Volcanoes. The observatory noted that “the gases that released during the eruption provoked volcanic smoke.”
Aviation hazard red code has been declared, the status of the volcano’s danger was increased to the level of “warning”.
Kilauea is the youngest of the ground Hawaiian volcanoes and one of the most active acting volcanoes on Earth. Erupted since 1983.
Previously, the eruption in the volcanic crater of the top of Kilauea occurred on June 7, 2023, and its activity ceased – June 21.
