Opening of city of Arkadag in Turkmenistan is scheduled for June 29

The opening ceremony of the city of Arkadag in Turkmenistan will be held on June 29.

The relevant resolution was signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, reports Turkmenistan Today.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Administration of the city of Arkadag, the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, the Ministry of Culture and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs to jointly ensure the opening of the opening of the city of Arkadag on June 29, 2023 at a high organizational level,” the document said.

Earlier, the President of Turkmenistan launched the construction of the second stage of the city of Arkadag.

Arkadag is a city, the administrative center of the Akhal Vlayat of Turkmenistan. It is in the stage of active construction. The new administrative center, where approximately 70 thousand people will live, are built in an area of ​​950 hectares located 30 km southwest of Ashgabata.

The implementation of the mega project was started in 2019.

The initiator of the project was the chairman of the Hulk Maslahata of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov.

The city is built on the basis of the Smart City concept using advanced technologies of the new generation.

The former president of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov is the title “Arkadag” (patron).
