Operational-tactical exercises to be held in Azerbaijan

According to the plan approved by the President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, from March 15, operational-tactical exercises will be held in the Azerbaijani army with the involvement of types of troops (forces), the Ministry of Defense reports.

The exercises, which will be held under the leadership of the Minister of Defense, will involve up to 10,000 military personnel, about 100 units of tanks and other armored vehicles, up to 200 rocket and artillery installations of various calibers, multiple launch rocket systems and mortars, up to 30 units of military aviation , as well as unmanned aerial vehicles for various purposes.

At the exercises, which will be held in mountainous and wooded areas with difficult terrain, the main attention, taking into account the combat experience gained during the Patriotic War, will be paid to command and control of troops, bringing them to a state of combat readiness and regrouping, including improving combat coordination and interaction between combined arms formations, missile and artillery troops, aviation and special forces.

During the exercise, which will last until March 18, the troops will carry out tasks to combat terrorist detachments (groups), as well as illegal armed groups and conduct counterterrorist operations.
