Completed the transmission process of the South Caucasian gas pipeline (YUG) from BP Exploration (Shah Deniz) Limited company SOCAR MIDSTREAM OPERATIONS LIMITED. The Turan Agency with reference to SOCAR reports that this pipeline is one of the segments of the South Gas Corridor.
Technical transmission was provided in an updated version of the agreement between the owners of the SUGK, signed in December 2013. The agreement provides SOCAR the right to take on the technical operator of the gas pipeline one year after the completion of the SCG expansion project.
Construction work on the expansion of the pipeline was completed in March 2019. In March 2020, SOCAR MIDSTREAM OPERATIONS LIMITED officially became the technical operator YukT in the agreed transition period. The expansion of the South Caucasus gas pipeline is associated with the full development of the Shahjeniz field and the opening of the South Gas Corridor.
