The warring parties to Sudan continue to negotiate in Jidd in order to achieve an “effective ceasefire”, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia reports.
Saudi Arabia and the United States called on the warring parties in Sudan to make efforts to achieve an effective ceasefire, establish a schedule of expanded negotiations and promoting the delivery of humanitarian aid, the kingdom of the Foreign Ministry said.
The department noted that during negotiations in Gidd, the conflicting parties “confirmed the obligations to achieve an agreement on the issue of safe delivery of humanitarian aid, as well as the restoration of basic services.”
The Foreign Ministry recalled that representatives of the Sudanese army and the forces of quick response (SBR) began to conduct preliminary negotiations on May 6.
Negotiations that continued on May 7 will continue in the coming days, the report said.
