The Leader of the Canadian Party of the New Democrats (NDP) Jagmiti Singh called for the exclusion of US President Donald Trump from participation in the G7 summit, which this year will be held in Canada.
Singh expressed his position on the role of Canada as the chairman of the G7 summit this year.
He stated that, based on the “threats of democracy, sovereignty and global stability,” Trump should not be invited to the summit.
“Why invite a person who threatens our democracy and sovereignty?” – said Singh.
He noted that Trump’s actions and policy are damaged by international organizations, and added that the G7 summit is “the opportunity to work with allies to confront threats emanating from Trump.”
On February 14, Donald Trump said that Russia should be accepted again in the G7, which includes Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Great Britain and the USA.
