In Georgia, one case of Ospa Monkey Oxyes is laboratory, Channel One reports with reference to the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health.
“The patient had a mild form of the virus and, after the appropriate treatment, he soon was discharged from a medical institution,” the center said.
The disease was detected after this person returned from Europe. Experts monitor everyone with whom the patient contacted, but in no case clinical signs were revealed.
According to WHO, at the moment, more than 1,600 confirmed cases of monkeys and approximately 1,500 estimated cases in 39 countries have already been registered.
