As part of the official visit of the chairman of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova, a ceremony of signing a memorandum of cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries was held on March 10.
This is stated in a message from the press service of the Azerbaijani parliament.
The document was signed by the chairman of the Milli Majlis Sakhib Gafarov and the chairman of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili.
It is noted that this memorandum will contribute to the further deepening of relations between the legislative bodies and the expansion of cooperation.
According to the press service of the Georgian Parliament, the parties agreed to develop inter-parliamentary cooperation in the spirit of strategic partnership. It is noted that the document will also contribute to the establishment of regular contacts between parliamentary commissions and committees, exchange of experience.
The meeting also discussed the current situation in the South Caucasus, the importance of good neighborly relations, peace and security was emphasized. The speakers of the parliaments of the two countries noted the willingness to work on the implementation of regional projects of strategic importance.
