The Minister of Energy of Parviz Shakhbazov made a welcoming speech at the 27th Baku Energy Forum. It was noted that flexible strategic decisions made by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the right time served as examples of diversification, which is a guarantor of sustainable energy supply of European and world markets.
It is the result of such a policy that is the supply of Azerbaijani gas on the southern gas corridor to European consumers at the time of the greatest need. The Minister of Energy said that today Azerbaijani gas is 13-90% of the total gas consumption in various countries.
“Tanap and Tap to Turkey and Europe have already delivered 29 billion cubic meters, and for 5 months of this year – 6.8 billion cubic meters. It is expected that by the end of the year this indicator will reach 16 billion cubic meters, and our gas exports to Europe in Europe Exceed 10 billion cubic meters, ”the minister said.
Having emphasized that the global energy architecture is currently redesigned in accordance with the challenges of energy security and climate, the minister noted that “green” energy is a preferred source of diversification in energy supply. It was noted that such synergy of energy security and decarbonization is a modern global trend that accelerates the transition to “green” energy, turning it into a driver of energy independence.
“Today we can say that transformational processes that change the dynamics of the Azerbaijani energy system are taking place. A completely different, the new page opens in the energy history of the Caspian. So, two days later we will sign a new agreement on large -scale” green “energy projects in the pearl of Karabakh – Shushe. Such stable initiatives are an indicator of international interest in the short term in the course of the President of Azerbaijan on the “green” energy that defines renewable energy sources as a strategic priority in the development of the country. This is an adequate reaction of investors to the call to the use of a rich renewed energy territory in the concept “Green” energy zone with “zero emission,” he said.
noting that the “green” agenda supported by multilateral reforms in the energy sector of Azerbaijan is faced with global development trends, the minister said that Azerbaijan will become a country that will expand its energy partnership with neighboring countries and Europe for many alternative sources due to export gas, “green energy” and “pure” hydrogen that will be saved in the future.
