In the Greek region of Komotini, the opening ceremony of the Greece-Bolgaria (IGB) interconnector was held for the transportation of Azerbaijani natural gas to Bulgaria. Greece at the event was represented by Prime Minister Kiriakotikitis, Bulgaria – Prime Minister Kirill Petkov, Azerbaijan – Minister of Energy of Parviz Shakhbazov.
The opening of the Greece-Bolgaria interconnector is a strategically important event in the diversified energy supply of Bulgaria and Southeast Europe as a whole, the access of consumers to profitable and pure energy, said the Minister of Energy of the Parviz Shakhbazov, speaking at the ceremony.
It was noted that Azerbaijan is a stable and strategic source of diversified gas supplies to European countries, including Bulgaria and Greece, as well as a reliable partner: “13.5 billion” Blue Fuel “has been delivered to Europe. 1.4 A billion cubic meter from this falls on the share of Greece, 440 million cubic meters – Bulgaria. Our export of gas to Bulgaria in the first 6 months amounted to 160 million cubic meters, and by the end of the year it is planned to reach 600 million cubic meters. From July 1 to Bulgaria in full daily 2.6 million cubic meter of gas is exported, which means an increase in daily supplies by 1.7 million cubic meters. “
