There were no official proposals to join the Union State of the Russian Federation and Belarus, said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a press conference, his words are given by the Armenian media.
“If you mean some kind of official proposal, then of course, there was no such proposal and could not be. But the reality is not as simple as it seems. And sometimes you need to look deeper not so much the text as the context of the issues. And We must consider global issues, ”said Pashinyan.
According to him, sovereignty, statehood, independence of the country is absolute value.
The question of whether there was an unofficial pressure, Pashinyan replied that before it should be understood that this can be meant. It is not clear whether the activated statements of experts or unofficial contacts can be considered such pressure.
Commenting on the words of the Secretary of the Council of Ministers Armen Grigoryan, Pashinyan noted that most likely he had in mind the above.
Earlier, in an interview with public television, the Secretary of the Council of People’s Commissars of Armenia Armenia Grigoryan accused Russia of pressure on the country of entering into a union state. The official said that the entry into the structure will mean the loss of Armenia of the sovereignty.
