The Armenian authorities are ready to hold early parliamentary elections if the opposition forces sign a corresponding memorandum with them. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during the government hour in parliament.
“We can hold early elections during 2021, if the opposition – and most importantly, the parliamentary opposition – agrees to hold them [by signing the corresponding memorandum]. For this purpose, I have already invited the leaders of the opposition factions to meet and hold consultations,” TASS leads Pashinyan’s words.
According to the head of the Armenian Cabinet of Ministers, “the government and political forces must guarantee free, fair and legal elections, which must become a means of restoring public solidarity.”
