Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan submitted a petition to the President of the country for the appointment of Artak Davtyan as head of the General Staff. This information was confirmed by the media by the press secretary of the Armenian Prime Minister Mane Gevorgyan.
Recall that Davtyan has already held the post of head of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces in 2018-2020. Last June, he resigned following a scandal over his son’s wedding during the coronavirus lockdown. Onik Gasparyan was appointed to his place. After some time, Davtyan was appointed head of the military-industrial committee under the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, where he worked until October 2020.
