Peskov about contacts between Kremlin and White House

Contacts between the Kremlin and the US President Joe Biden are now virtually absent, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov told RIA Novosti.

“We can say that no, now no. Now all the contacts are actually absent,” Peskov said, answering the question of whether there are contacts between the Kremlin and the White House.

Since the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the United States has introduced several packages of sanctions against the Russian Federation, including against Russian President Vladimir Putin. In addition, at the end of February, Washington announced the expulsion of 12 employees of the Russian representative office at the UN, and later ten more employees of the Russian diplomatic mission. At the same time, the number of bilateral meetings and negotiations of the first persons of Russia and the USA was reduced. In particular, the Russian president last called Joe Bayden on February 12 – two weeks before the start of hostilities in Ukraine.
