The process of interaction between Moscow and Tehran is in no way connected with Russian-American relations. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov in an interview with IRNA.
“Moscow appreciates good relations and partnership with Iran and intends to comprehensively develop these relations, including helping to solve the most important issues, such as a nuclear program. The process of cooperation between Moscow and Tehran is not related to the direction of Russian -American relations,” he said .
Peskov noted that during a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin with the head of the White House Donald Trump, the Iranian nuclear program was discussed. “However, the main topic was still a conversation about the restoration of Russian-American relations,” he said.
The issue of the Iranian nuclear program must be solved diplomatic with interested parties, ”the representative of the Kremlin said.
