Peskov: Russian Federation Occupies “responsible Position” On Issue Of Preventing Nuclear Conflict

Russia takes a responsible position and seeks to prevent a nuclear conflict. This was stated at a briefing by a press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the Pentagon’s statement about the US readiness to exchange nuclear blows.

“We emphasized in the context of our nuclear doctrine that Russia takes a responsible position in terms of making maximum efforts to prevent such a conflict. We expect that other countries will take the same responsible position, not engage in provocative actions”, – said the representative of the Kremlin, whose words are cited by the Russian media.

The Kremlin representative noted that the outgoing US presidential administration Joe Biden continues to “add oil to the fire” of the Ukrainian conflict, preventing its completion.

“They continue to add oil into the fire of this conflict, in every possible way preventing at least some dynamics of its completion, using, naturally, Ukraine as a tool in its hands in its war with the Russian Federation,” he said.

At the same time, the Kremlin representative forwarded the military question whether Ukraine is preparing for the more powerful use of the Russian Armed Forces the latest weapons against the backdrop of strikes by long -range Western missiles on objects on Russian territory.

Peskov also did not comment on the statements of Kyiv on the use of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBR) in Ukraine by Russia. “I recommend that I contact the military with this, now I have nothing to say on this topic,” he said.

Earlier, on November 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the updated doctrine in the field of nuclear deterrence that allows the country to “use nuclear weapons in response to the use of its allies of nuclear and (or) other types of weapons of mass destruction, as well as In the case of aggression against the Russian Federation and (or) the Republic of Belarus as participants in the Union State with the use of ordinary weapons that pose a critical threat to their sovereignty and (or) territorial integrity. “
