Peskov: There are no prerequisites for peaceful settlement of Ukrainian conflict yet

Talk about the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine prematurely, there are no prerequisites for this yet, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov told TASS.

Answering the question which of the plans of the peaceful settlement of the Russian conflict proposed to different parties is closer and whether it has its own version of this plan, the spokeswoman said: “So far, there is no premature way while there are no prerequisites for the peaceful settlement, obvious.” “A special military operation continues,” he added.

The request to clarify whether the Kremlin is ready to negotiate with any of the representatives of the current Kiev authorities, Peskov said: “It is unlikely that this can be discussed, because any negotiations with the Russian Federation are prohibited [in Ukraine].”

The press secretary of the head of state said that Russia shares the position that the Ukrainian conflict should not be frozen.

“Russia is in solidarity,” the Kremlin representative answered the question of whether the Russian Federation and the West were in solidarity that it is impossible to freely freeze the conflict in Ukraine.

“Russia is considering only the completion of a special military operation: to ensure its interests, achieve goals facing Russia or through a special military operation, or other available means,” Peskov emphasized.
