Prosecutor General’s Office is investigating the facts of illegal logging of trees in the Saatlinsky, Tovuz and Lerik districts, the press service of the department said.
During the investigation, it was found that as a result of illegal log cabin, a total of 142 trees and shrubs in the territory of Tovuzsky, Lenkoransky and Lerik regions, which caused a damage to the ecosystem in the amount of more than 12 thousand manat.
In fact, criminal cases were opened under Articles 259.1 and 259.2.4 of the Criminal Code (illegal deforestation), which were sent for investigation to the relevant internal affairs bodies.
