Poland authorities completed the construction of a five-meter fence on the Polish-Belarusian border, the Prime Minister of the Republic Mateust Moravetsky said at a briefing.
“The fence was built in early summer, as I promised,” TASS quoted him.
According to him, the appearance of this fence has gained additional relevance in a situation of growing threat of hunger in Africa countries and in the Middle East. “When I was at the EU summit, the premieres from the countries of the South of Europe emphasized the growing migration pressure due to a wave of hunger. We see that the pressure is growing. This fence is necessary to safely protect the Polish border,” Moravetsky noted.
