Polish authorities presented charges to two citizens of the country, who were held in captivity of the USSR Nikolai Yerofeyev in captivity, forcing it to work on a poultry farm near Lublin. This was reported by POLSAT TV channel.
“In the framework of the investigation conducted by the staff of the State Border Service in Legnica under the supervision of the district prosecutor’s office in Legnica, two Polish citizens were charged with human trafficking,” informed the representative of the Bogogranhran of John the end. This crime is punishable by imprisonment for a period of at least three years.
“For more than 23 years, illegal threats were used in relation to Russian, and its critical position and state of helplessness were used to fulfill forced work, degrading human dignity,” added the end.
Suspected of committing this crime is forbidden to leave the country and approach the victim to a distance less than 100 m, communicate with him personally or by telephone. The property of one of the defendants of the case in the amount of 200 thousand zlotys (more than $ 50 thousand) is arrested, after completion of the proceedings, this amount can be paid to Erofeev as compensation.
The history of Yerofeyev became known in 2020, thanks to the journalistic investigation by the Polish television. As it turned out, he is already 60 years old. He arrived in Poland in 1989 to work in a Soviet military unit deployed then under the Boleshard. When the military left the republic, Erofeev decided to stay and went to work for a farm, where nobody paid him. About his difficult fate to tell someone he was afraid, because he was in the country illegally.
According to the man, he was almost not fed and prohibited to go out into the city, beat and mocked. The new life of Erofeev helped Eva and Kshyshto Ptyyshevich. They gave him housing, helped to find a lawyer and even took a dog from the shelter so that he would not feel so lonely.
