Police Türkiye Celebrates 180th Anniversary

The Turkish police organization was founded on April 10, 1845, when the “Powers for the Police” was accepted.

In 1909, the CEO of the Security of the Turkish National Police was created, and in 1913 the Ministry of Internal Affairs approved the instructions that define the tasks of this body.

In 1932, the Turkish Republic adopted the “Regulation on the organization of the police”, which became the organizational basis of the activities of law enforcement agencies.

Today, in the ranks of law enforcement agencies in Turkey, there are 349,061 employee.

Turkish police officers are serving around the clock in order to ensure the safety of the life and property of citizens. The activities of the Turkish police are based on the principles of the rule of law and human rights.
