Amrulla Saleh, who held the post of Vice-President of Afghanistan, with the defendant of Ashrafe Gani and announced himself to the acting head of state, wrote a letter to the German edition of Der Spiegel in which he expressed his readiness to confront the Taliban together with the front of the national resistance of Afghanistan in Panjucher’s province.
“Geographically, we are isolated, but politically and morally Afghanistan with us, and he will never become Talibanist,” said the former vice president in a letter that quotes Interfax.
Saleh sent photos of a three-page handwritten letter to Der Spiegel through WhatsApp “for security reasons”.
In a letter, the former vice president accuses the White House in the “naivety, fatigue and myopia”, saying that the actions of the United States administration led to the fact that her reputation, credibility and position in the world suffer. He also accuses to betray the former President of Ashraf Gani, who ran from the country after taking Kabul Taliban.
Saleh notes that there is still a way out of the current situation. For this, in his opinion, the global community needs to require a political settlement in Afghanistan and recognize and support national resistance in Panjsheter.
After the flight of President Ghani Saleh went to Panjscher, where he stated that according to the Constitution of the country, now he is the legal head of the state. Now Saleh and the leader of the Front Ahmad Masood together use the Panjscher Valley as a base for organizing the resistance of the Taliban.
Also in a letter, Saleh confirmed that Masood is ready for “sincere and serious negotiations” with the Taliban.
