Pope Francis turned to the presidents of Russia and Ukraine – Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky. He urged Putin to stop hostilities, and Zelensky – to be open to negotiations.
During the Sunday appeal to the flock, Pontiff expressed concern in connection with military escalation in Ukraine and regret regarding the annexation of four Ukrainian regions.
“My appeal is addressed primarily to the President of the Russian Federation, I begun to stop this spiral of violence and deaths, including for the sake of his own people.
