The spiritual leader of the Catholics and the President of the Vatican Pope Francis was hospitalized in the Jamellie hospital in Rome because of the bronchitis, which he has been suffering for some time.

The Vatican press service says: “Pope Francis was placed in the Gemelli hospital for the necessary examinations and treatment of bronchitis, which will continue in the hospital after its receipt this morning.”

In the message of the Italian agency ANSA, based on sources close to Papa Francis, it is noted that the treatment of the spiritual leader of Catholics in the hospital can take 5 days.

88-year-old Pope Francis, who suffers from bronchitis since the beginning of the month, at two public events on February 9 and 12, could not make his speeches himself and asked his assistants to do it for him, said that he had bronchitis and it was difficult for him to breathe.

Dad was treated at the Jamellie hospital twice in 2023: once about shortness of breath, and the second – due to the operation to install the prosthesis in the abdominal wall.
