Pope Francis expressed solidarity with Muslims on the occasion of Ramadan on March 10,
“Tonight, our Muslim brothers begin the month of Ramazan. I express my intimacy to all of them,” said the pontiff during the Sunday Mass on St. Peter Square in the Vatican.
The head of the Roman Catholic Church also noted that he prays for establishing peace in Ukraine and in the Middle East. He expressed hope for the speedy completion of armed conflicts in this region.
On the eve of Pope Francis in an interview with the Swiss television and radio company RSI, the Turkish initiative to give the peace process between Russia and Ukraine.
Pope Francis emphasized the acute need not to postpone negotiations, since the situation may worsen even more.
“I believe that the one who sees the situation is stronger, the one who thinks about people, the one who has the courage to raise the white flag and negotiate,” he said.
