The population of Turkmenistan exceeded 7 million 57 thousand people.
The Head of the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics, Devletgeldy Amanmukhammedov, informed the Council of Ministers about the results of the census, held from December 7 to December 27, 2022.
Amanmukhammedov said that the population of Turkmenistan increased to 7 million 57 thousand 841 people.
According to statistics, 47.1 percent of the country’s population lives in cities and 52.9 percent in rural areas.
According to 2017, posted on the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan, the country’s population was 6.2 million people.
