Oil terminals in the ports of several countries in the west of Europe underwent a large-scale cyber. The attack led to interruptions in the work of oil terminals, reports Ukrinform with reference to AFP.
Hackers blocked several oil objects in the ports of Belgium, including Antwerp, which is the second largest port in Europe after Rotterdam. Among the affected port infrastructure is the Center for Oil Trade Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp, as well as the SEA-Tank terminal in Antwerp.
“There was a kiberatak to different terminals, some terminals were blocked,” said Jelle Vriman, Riverlake’s senior broker in Rotterdam. “Their software is attacked, and they cannot process barges. In fact, the operating system does not work,” the message is noted.
The fact of attack also confirmed the Europol. “At this stage, the investigation continues and is on a sensitive stage,” said the representative of the press service of Europol Clair George.
