The threat of Syria’s territorial integrity emanating from the PKK/YPG terrorist organization, today causes greater concern than ever before. This was stated by Turkish Permanent at the UN Sedat ONAL.
“The ongoing presence of terrorist organizations in Syria is a huge threat to this country and its neighbors, primarily Turkey, as well as for the entire region,” said the diplomat at a meeting of the UN Security Council in Syria.
According to him, recent clashes between the Arab tribes of PKK/YPG militants in the east of Syria once again showed that the activities of the RSC and the external support that the group continues to receive are the “main sources of instability” in this country.
“Repressive and discriminatory practice and violations of human rights by this terrorist organization have now become public. Angry information was also provided to the UN,” he added.
The ambassador said that Turkey calls for all interested parties to demonstrate a comprehensive and long -term approach and distance himself from those separatist formations that “have no place in the future of Syria.”
He also emphasized that Turkey has to take the necessary measures against direct and direct threats of its national security by terrorist organizations operating in Syria. “In accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter and the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council, Turkey will continue to exercise its legitimate right to self -defense,” he said.
