Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a meeting of the National Security Council held a telephone conversation with the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) Antoniu Guterry.
According to the statement published by the Communications Department of the Presidential Administration, Erdogan and Guterrish discussed regional and global issues.
President Erdogan said that the Syrian conflict has reached a new stage, Turkey is very interested in that Syria does not have even greater instability and casualties among the civilian population.
He noted that at this stage the Syrian regime should urgently begin interaction with his own people to achieve a comprehensive political decision.
According to the president, Türkiye has always sought and will try to reduce tension, protect the civilian population and prepare the ground for the political process.
