The best answer to those who, with a “oblique look” evaluate the revolution in Syria and glorify the period of the regime of Bashar al -Assad, are underground prisons in Damascus. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking at the 8th another congress of the Justice and Development Party in the Sakary.
The head of the Turkish state attracted attention to Turkey’s initiatives in terms of ensuring the protection of the Syrian people.
According to the Turkish leader, fulfilling his obligations to the Syrian people, Turkey had to face great pressure, accusations, provocations and incitement, including from the outside.
“We fulfilled our brotherly duty to the Syrian brothers and sisters,” Erdogan emphasized.
“The best answer to those who, with a oblique gaze, evaluate the revolution in Syria and glorify the Assad period – these are underground prisons in Damascus,” he added.
Against the backdrop of clashes that began between anti -government groups and the forces of the regime on November 27, Bashar al -Assad and his family fled to Russia after establishing control of anti -government groups over the capital of Damascus. This event marked the collapse of the Baas party, which has been in power in Syria since 1963.
