The head of state noted that the “sharp debates of the last weeks” clearly demonstrated this.
“The need for Europe in Turkey is not only in the field of security, but also in many other areas, including economics, diplomacy and trade, began to openly admit,” said the Turkish leader.
The president emphasized that Ankara is ready to develop relations with European countries and the EU “in the framework of common interests and on the basis of mutual respect”.
Commenting on the prospects of Turkish-American relations, the politician noted that “it is possible that the relations of Ankara and Washington will acquire a different impulse during the second period of Donald Trump as president of the United States”.
Speaking of a recent telephone conversation with an American colleague, he noted that the conversation was held in a “sincere atmosphere”. According to the politician, the parties discussed many important issues, including the elimination of all obstacles on the way to achieving the volume of bilateral turnover of $ 100 billion.
