Turkey today exports as much as it has done it in one week in 2002. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the 31st next General Assembly of Turkish Exporters (TIM) and the awarding ceremony of leading exporters.
The Turkish leader noted that Turkey, the volume of export of which previously amounted to only 36 billion a year, has reached a completely different level today.
“We are distributing exports throughout the country. In fact, there is not a single province that would not export. In 2023, we have companies that are engaged in export and are one of the 1000 largest exporting companies in 48 provinces,” – The president said.
At the same time, the leader of Turkey attracted attention to export and import indicators in May of this year.
“The tendency to reduce our imports continued in May. In May, our imports decreased by 10.3 percent in annual terms. In the first five months we achieved a pure increase in the export of goods by $ 4.6 billion,” said President Erdogan .
According to him, the export indicators of Turkey in May brought new records.
President Erdogan noted that the May indicators of the volume of Turkish exports were also the highest in all months.
“In the first three months of the year, our export of services increased by 8 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching $ 19.9 billion,” said the Turkish leader, “he said.
According to the Turkish leader, the authorities of Turkey predicts a balanced growth of about 4 percent in 2024, which will positively contribute to pure external demand. “Our program is fruit, as we expected,” he said.
