President Erdogan: Turkey’s Export Indicators In 2024 Beat Record In History Of Republic

The export indicators of Turkey, according to the results of 2024, beat the record in the history of the republic. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking at the program to declare the country’s foreign trade indicators for 2024 at the Halich congress center in Istanbul.

“Our export of goods in 2024 increased by 2.5 percent compared to 2023, reaching $ 262 billion. We broke a record in the history of the republic in terms of export for the year,” the president said. At the same time, according to the head of the Turkish state, the volume of Turkish exports in December 2024 increased by 2.2 percent, to $ 23.5 billion. Thus, the December export broke the record, ”said President Erdogan.

The Turkish leader also attracted attention to the pace of Turkish growth economy.

The growth rate of Turkey’s economy in the third quarter of 2024 amounted to 2.1 percent. This trend is demonstrating continuous growth of 17 quarters in a row. We strive to achieve a 4 percent growth rate by 2025 with the support of net exports and investments in fixed assets, ”said the Turkish President.

President Erdogan also noted that Türkiye in 2024 reduced the deficit of foreign trade by $ 24 billion.

“We reduced the deficit of foreign trade in Turkey from $ 106.3 billion in 2023 to $ 82.2 billion in 2024,” the president explained.

The share of export covering imports increased by 5.5 percentage points and amounted to 76.1 percent. This indicator in 2002, when we came to power, was only about 50 percent, ”he said.

According to the Turkish leader, from January to October 2024, the unemployment rate in Turkey was an average of 8.8 percent, which is the lowest indicator over the past 23 years.
