President Erdogan: Turkey’s Priority Is To Maintain Stability At Its Borders

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Iraq Muhammed Shia al-Sudani.

According to the statement published by the Communications Department of the Administration of the President of Turkey, President Erdogan said that Turkey’s priority is to maintain stability among its borders and prevent damage to the civilian population.

He noted that the unity, stability and territorial integrity of Syria are of great importance and in this matter, Ankara is in solidarity with Iraq.

President Erdogan added that the Syrian regime should take part in a genuine political process in order to prevent a deterioration in the situation.

The head of the Turkish state emphasized that Ankara, in accordance with ensuring the national security and interests of Turkey, took and will take steps to prevent the terrorist organization of the RSC and its minions to take advantage of the situation in Syria.
