President Erdogan: Türkiye Will Continue To Take Steps In Field Of Transport

Türkiye will continue to invest in investments and take steps in the field of transport. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his video message to the participants of the World Congress of the International Road Federation (IRF – 2024).

The head of the Turkish state noted that the International Road Federation, operating since 1948 in order to ensure the development of safer and stable road networks, has added new successes every year.

In addition, President Erdogan drew attention to the appropriateness of the chosen topic of the Congress of this year – “We are associated with the aim of increasing mobility: roads as a factor in a sustainable future for everyone.”

“The road is transport, industry, production, tourism, trade, safety, development and integration with the world. With such an understanding, we brought our country to a significant level in the field of transport and infrastructure, making great breakthroughs,” the president said.

He recalled such implemented projects in Turkey as, the tunnels of Eurasia, Sabunkubeli, Erkenek, Dzhancurtaran, “Independence of July 15 – Ilgaz” and Ovit.

Bridges of Sultan Selima Yavuza and Chanakkale 1915 became monuments of the pride of the country, ”the president said.

According to the Turkish leader, the total network of motorways in Turkey has a length of about 4 thousand kilometers, and a divided expensive network is about 30 thousand kilometers.

“We are striving to increase the length of our divided roads to more than 38 thousand kilometers by 2053, and the length of our highways is to more than 8,300 kilometers,” said President Erdogan.

The head of the Turkish state also expressed confidence that Congress, uniting leading representatives of the industry, state institutions and private organizations, will be successful this year.
