President Erdogan: Türkiye Will Continue Efforts In Name Of Durable World In Ukraine

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the need to manifest a fair and balanced approach in order to achieve peace in Ukraine.

The head of state said this in a video message to the participants of the 4th summit of the leaders of the Crimean Platform

“The path to a fair and strong world can be opened through an equation in which both sides of the war will be represented equally and fairly,” said, in particular, the Turkish leader.

The president emphasized that “since the annexation of Crimea in 2014, Türkiye has provided the necessary support to the fair case of Ukraine in accordance with the fundamental principles of international law.”

“Just as we declared our disagreement with the war three years ago, when the conflict began, we are still full of determination to make all efforts to stop this war through negotiations,” the politician said.

The Turkish leader emphasized that at the same time, Ankara continues to decisively maintain territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.

The Head of State also indicated that recently there has been a reduction in more and more attention to approaches to resolving the Ukrainian crisis based on diplomacy, dialogue and negotiations.

“I hope that this process marks the beginning of the cessation of clashes and the establishment of a durable world, and next year we will celebrate the anniversary of the achievement of the world, and not the beginning of the war,” said the President of Turkey.

The president recalled that last week he held a meeting with a colleague from Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky in Ankara, during which Ankara’s contribution to the Ukrainian settlement “at such an important stage” was discussed, including Turkey’s readiness to conduct peace negotiations.
