President Erdogan: West Does Not Want To Share Burden Of Concern For Refugees

Despite the fact that it is the Western policy that forces people to become refugees when it comes to the division of the burden of taking care of people who have forced to leave their homes and responsibility for the consequences of their policy, none of them are visible.

This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking at the event “Turkish model of migration management in the Century of Turkey” in Istanbul.

The head of state also touched the topic of Syrian refugees. He noted that “despite various difficulties, obstacles and sabotage, Syria is gradually being restored.” The Turkish leader stated that as the country is restored, the number of Syrians returning to their homeland began to increase.

President Erdogan also said that from December 9, 2024, 200 thousand refugees from this country who found refuge in Turkey returned to Syria.

The President recalled that according to the UN, the total number of migrants around the world is about 281 million people, including more than 165 million labor migrants.

“Due to the wars of the last three or four years, the number of refugees reached 120 million. Data also indicate that every minute there are 20 people in the world and are forced to leave their homes due to conflicts, persecution and terrorism,” he added.

According to him, faced with this phenomenon, many countries have difficulty managing migration flows, which in turn leads to an increase in cases of racism and discrimination in them.
