Georgia and the Georgian people are now undergoing an important stage in the formation of statehood. This was stated by Georgian President Mikhail Kavelashvili, speaking at the spring session of the XI convocation, local media reports.
Kavelashvili expressed confidence that the coming four years of the legislative body will contribute to ensuring the country’s national interests.
The Head of State emphasized that Georgia should “intensify the strategic and geographical role of the country as much as possible.”
“The processes in the USA and the response to them in the world once again convinced our society, how correct the policy is pursued by Georgia aimed at the world, national interests, the protection of traditional and conservative values, the strengthening of the role of Christianity,” Cavelashvili words are given. This is the first performance of Kavelashvili before parliament in the status of the president. Kavelashvili took office on December 29 and became the sixth President of Georgia. He replaced Saloma Zurabishvili at the post.
