President Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan Has Turned Into One Of Important Transport And Logistics Centers Of Eurasia

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, speaking at the first plenary meeting of the Autrich / BRICS+ XVI Summit in Kazan, said that thanks to its geographical position and created modern infrastructure, Azerbaijan turned into one of the key transport and logistics centers of Eurasia.

He emphasized that transport corridors of the east-west and north-yug pass through the territory of Azerbaijan, and all segments of these ways function with success.

“At the moment, due to a sharp increase in cargo flow through our territory, we invest additional funds in increasing the capacity of these corridors,” the president said.

He recalled that next month, Baku will become the venue for the largest international climate conference SOR29. “The unanimous decision of about 200 countries on the conduct of SOR29 in Azerbaijan is a vivid evidence of respect and support for our policy. We are already contributing to cooperation between the global south and the global north by climate and will strive to achieve mutual understanding as on issues related to climate change, so and issues of global security, the supremacy of international law, non -interference in each other’s affairs, mutual respect, ”said Aliyev.

The head of state indicated that the successful experience of the chairmanship in the movement of non -alignment helps Azerbaijan in the current role of the chairman of the meeting in the interaction and confidence measures in Asia, which allows the country to make a significant contribution to the strengthening of regional and international security.

In response to the performance of the President of Azerbaijan, Vladimir Putin thanked Ilham Aliyev for participating in the summit and noted the important role of Azerbaijan in the development of transport corridors, emphasizing that not only in terms of the growth of trade in Russia, but also in the framework of cooperation with the countries BRICS, this aspect acquires strategic significance.
