President Of Azerbaijan: We Must Establish Peace In South Caucasus

Azerbaijan will not forget the years of occupation and suffering caused by Armenian aggression.

This was stated by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in his speech at the opening ceremony of the XII of the XII Global Baku Forum.

“We know about the sufferings of the Azerbaijani people and the damage that Armenian aggression caused us. We witnessed barbarism in our liberated territories. Entire cities and villages were erased from the face of the earth. They deliberately took such actions, cities, our religion and our historical heritage. 65 mosques were destroyed,” the head of state noted.

The president also recalled the Khojalin genocide, as a result of which 613 people were killed, including more than 100 women and 60 children.

Aliyev emphasized that despite the tragic events of the past, the country should look into the future.

“We must establish the world in the South Caucasus,” Ilham Aliyev said, adding that Azerbaijan is committed to a peace process and is the author of a peace agreement.

He noted that most of the clauses on the world between Armenia and Azerbaijan has already been agreed.
