Supporters of the former President of Bolivia Evo Morales stormed three military barracks in the Kochambamba department. The current president of Bolivia Luis Arsa wrote about this on the social network.
The Head of State called the incident “betrayal of the Motherland.” “I would like to inform the Bolivian people and the international community that the armed groups sympathizing with Evo Morales attacked three military units in Kochabama. I decisively condemn the capture of the soldiers and members of their families. An attack on military barracks at any point in the world is a state crime,”- The president said.
Arsa noted that the attack on the barracks is an insult to the people of Bolivia and condemned actions to block traffic on the roads in the city.
One of the soldiers shared a video and said that they were taken hostage by about 2 thousand supporters of Morales. “They turned off the water and electricity to us and took it hostage. We require a quick decision. Do not take actions regarding the capture points, because our life may be in danger, we have families,” he said.
