President of Indonesia Prabovo said that two countries have a similar story and vision, adding: “As the leaders of the global south, as strategic partners, Turkey and I must take responsibility for creating a new global order.”
Prabovo spoke at a joint press conference organized after a meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the presidential complex in Ankara.
He thanked the President of Erdogan and Turkey for the warm welcome and efforts to support cooperation between the two countries, recalling that the diplomatic relations between Turkey and Indonesia are 75 years old, and the parties are striving to strengthen cooperation.
Prabovo noted that the two countries have a similar story and vision: “Like both countries, we want to be a positive force in the Islamic world. In this sense, we must also take this responsibility. As the leaders of the global south, we must take responsibility for creating a new global order as strategic partners.”
In the final part of his speech, he stated that he wanted to complete it with “some words from his heart”:
“I really admire Turkey, I study a lot here. Turkey is a continuation of the Ottoman state for us, and it really inspires us, the Indonesian people. For this reason, our cooperation makes us truly happy. In the coming days and the period, we will really contribute to the world around the world, acting together.”
