President of Latvia, Egils Levitts, supported the idea of creating a special tribunal to investigate Russia’s actions in Ukraine.
Deutsche Welle reports that, speaking on Sunday, November 13, in the Bundestag of Germany on the occasion of a popular day of sorrow, Levitts called on the world community to investigate and conduct a legal assessment of Russian military aggression against Ukraine.
Levitts called the “gap in international law” the fact that the investigation of the invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine is still not within the competence of any international court. According to the politician, the creation of a special tribunal from a legal point of view is possible, only political will is needed for this.
