President Of Moldova And Secretary General Of NATO Discussed Security And Cooperation Issues

Moldova President Maya Sandu held a meeting with the Secretary General of NATO Mark Rutte, who visited the country with transit.

According to the press service of the head of the Moldovan state, during negotiations the parties focused on security issues in the region.

also Maya Sandu and Mark Rutte discussed efforts to restore peace and strengthen cooperation between the Moldova and North Atlantic Alliance in the framework of the new individual partnership program adopted by the Government of Moldova in January 2025.

The press service emphasized that the Republic of Moldova has been actively cooperating with NATO for more than 30 years as part of the Partnership for the Peace program.

This cooperation, carried out subject to the country’s constitutional neutrality, significantly helps to improve security and stability, follows from the text.

Support of the Alliance helped Moldova strengthen the possibilities in preventing and responding to crises, modernizing national institutions in the field of security and defense, as well as strengthen the protection of information and cyberspace, the press service of the Moldovan leader said.
