Polish President Andrzej Duda signed an amendment to the law on a national referendum, which will allow a plebiscite on the day of the parliamentary elections on October 15.
This is stated in the message of the office of the President of Poland.
The amendment to the law allows a nationwide referendum in Poland on the same day with the presidential, parliamentary elections or elections to the European Parliament. The referendum can be carried out from 7:00 to 21:00.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Poland Diets rejected the objections of the Senate, where the majority have opposition parties against amendments to the Law on National Referendum.
The referendum was initiated by the ruling party “Law and Justice”.
