Countries – BRICS participants agreed on the list of future partner states of the association. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a press conference following the Brix summit.
The Russian leader noted that many countries show interest in work in BRICS.
“We agreed with partners that at the first stage, referring to a possible expansion, we will follow the path of coordinating the list of partner countries, such a list is agreed, some countries that participated in these events handed us their proposals and a request for Full -format participation in the work of the BRICS association, ”he said.
Putin added that invitations to full-format work will be sent to future partner countries.
The President of Russia said that the partner countries BRICS will be announced after they accept this status.
Answering the question of the post -crop development of relations between Moscow and Washington, the head of state noted that the Russian Federation will be opened to cooperation with the United States after the elections there, if they are open.
“If the United States is open to the construction of normal relations with Russia, then we will do the same. Not at least we need! But this choice is for the future administration,” said Putin.
The Russian leader also said that Moscow never doubted that Pyongyang was seriously related to the implementation of the strategic partnership agreement in terms of joint defense.
“As you know, today, in my opinion, our agreement on strategic partnership is only ratified, there is an article fourth there. And we never doubted that the North Korean leadership was seriously related to our agreements,” he said.
“But what and how we will do is our business in the framework of this article. First, we need to conduct appropriate negotiations on the implementation of this article of the fourth of this agreement,” the president added.
