President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law according to which convicts may be parole for military service under the contract.
The corresponding document is posted on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
The law provides that convicts for minor crimes by a person by decision of the court may conditionally be exempted for military service under the contract.
According to the law, persons convicted of serious intentional murders, rape, sexual violence and crimes against national security cannot be accepted into the service.
The Ukrainian parliament adopted a law signed by Zelensky on May 9. It is stated that from 15 to 20 thousand prisoners can be drafted into the army in the country.
