President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said that so far Kyiv does not need the military from France.
About this on Monday, March 11, the Ukrainian leader said in an interview with the French TV channel BFM TV.
“The fact that he (Macron – Ed.) said that we cannot” exclude “anything, I think, first of all, that this is connected with Vladimir Putin. While Ukraine is holding on, the French army can remain in French territory” – said the president.
The French army has no reason to fight while Kyiv is firmly opposed by Russia, the Ukrainian president assured, commenting on the statements of the French colleague Emmanuel Macron, who had not previously excluded the sending of troops to Ukraine in the future.
But if Putin manages to attack another NATO country, the situation will be completely different, Zelensky believes.
“It is NATO countries that will have to decide whether to send their army or not,” the president said, referring to Article 5 of the Agreement, which provides that the attack on the alliance member should cause a response.
At the same time, Zelensky did not exclude that the foreign military can appear in Ukraine as technical personnel serving Leopard tanks and Caesar guns.
